Black silk gazar, has an opaque background with sheer embroidered dime sized dots overall. Each dot is embroidered around in a chain stitch. Silk Gazar is plain weave fabric made with high-twist double yarns woven as one. Gazar has a crisp hand and a smooth texture. A four ply form of silk organza, silk gazaar was developed by the designer Balenciaga in the 1960s. Silk gazar is often used for bridal - Kate Middleton's wedding gown was made of silk gazar. Not a common fabric, silk gazar most often comes in solid colors, and it is rare to find it in this unusual embroidered weave. Airy and lightly crisp with a cool dry hand. Right for a top, shirt, jacket, dress or over-layer.
Dry clean. Test a swatch if you want to hand launder as silk organza can become very limp with washing.
