One of my favorite tools, (thanks to a quilting friend who alerted me to it), cannot use anything else for ripping. This is a surgical instrument, and the blade can be replaced as it dulls (I always want a spare on hand). Takes a bit of getting used to, and you must be careful, but it slides into a seam and with a gentle motion, cuts right through the threads. Love love love it! Comes with spare blades.
