Beautiful squares with stylized floral insets in deep navy with rust, green, teal and black on white cupro crepe, exclusive vintage deadstock from southern California designer Johnny Was. Cupro is a regenerated cellulose fabric that is made from recycled cotton linter, the fluffy fiber around the plant's seeds which can be spun into new fibers and woven into this smooth eco friendly fabric. Expensive to produce, cupro fabrics breathe like cotton and feel like silk. Lightweight, opaque, with a smooth, cool hand, light airy drape and 25" repeat. Right for a shirt, top, tunic, lounge wear, soft pants or a dress.

I cut silkies and sheers on top of paper, squaring off the end to align the grain. Use tissue or pattern making paper, ok to tape together to the width of the fabric. Place the pattern on the fabric, pattern pieces on top, then pin and cut through all the layers. This keeps the shape of the pattern pieces so you can move them around to mark. Sew with a sharp point fine #70 needle. French seams are perfect with this fabric.

Pre-treat by machine wash/gentle air dry.
