Black stretch cotton Bedford Cord, pure black with subtle woven in dimensional vertical lines. Mid weight but not thick or heavy, opaque with a cool smooth hand and subtle textured corded surface with lightly crisp sculptural drape, good 2-way crosswise stretch and good recovery. Ideal for pants right for a duster coat, jacket, vest, structured skirt, dress, workwear. An excellent basic for travel and everyday.

Bedford cord, named after the town of New Bedford, Massachusetts, a famous 19th century textile manufacturing city, is a fabric that resembles corduroy. The weave has faint lengthwise ridges, but without the filling yarns that make the distinct wales characteristic of corduroy.

Pre-treat by wash/dry gentle.
