From a renowned SF designer, a fabric I see used in upper end European RTW. Black taffeta, probably nylon....nylon is a synthetic used in better fabrics...a good thing! This is a mid weight, matte with a silky smooth hand and very malleable drape, when crushed it holds it shape, then releases to smooth. Makes great travel clothes, use for a jacket, vest, coat, structured skirt or dress. I've even seen this fabric used for a sculptural pant. Has a wonderful fringed selvedge too! Pattern suggestions: Kathryn Brynne’s simple lined jacket or vest, Vogue 9135, Katherine’s wonderful sculptural vest Butterick 6138, Marcy’s chic euro-style trench coat: Vogue 9070, Katherine’s tunic vest: Butterick 6064, or either the jacket or vest in Butterick 5891

Pre-treat by machine wash gentle and air dry. Test a swatch if you want to put it in the dryer.
