Classic silk brocade, vintage deadstock from an LA designer. Today this classic type of brocade is made with polyester, so I was thrilled to find a roll in silk. Multicolored on a black background, the images include stylized flora and fauna as well as Foo Dogs, which are actually stylized lions and originated in Chinese art, representing protection, prosperity, and strength. Mid/lightweight, with a smooth hand, and structured lightly crisp drape. Right for a jacket, vest, structured dress or skirt, decor, and accessories. The narrow width means the fabric is woven on old looms.
