Charcoal gray reversing to black, uber soft and cozy with a cotton-y feel. 'A double layer knit which is quilted' in a contemporary geometric motif, with an appealing sumptuous feel. Has crosswise stretch and no rolling at the cut edge. The weight and drape are right for a jacket, vest, top or coat. Has a bit of loft but not too thick and could easily be a garment to wear indoors or out. In Paris I saw dresses and little A-line skirts made in similar fabrics. This is one of the new textiles...the quilting is done so the front side has the appearance of stitches while the back side shows a shadow of the stitches but remains quite flat. A bit of lycra adds to the drape and crosswise stretch. Remind me of the French 'boutis' provincial boutis quilts from the south of France. I keep hoping to find a vintage baby sized one to use as a throw....another good idea for this contemporary quilted fabric. A nice match with our Stockholm Knit, and Damian and Viggo Stripes.
Pre-treat by tossing in the washer/dryer on gentle, and do the same after sewing.
cotton/poly/spandex (educated guess)
