Ivory poly georgette with woven in fringed black and white lightly textured nickel sized dots. The base fabric is sheer with a lightly textured crepe weave in a light airy weight that is right for a skirt, top, dress or to use as a detail. Semi sheer with a fluid drape and cool dry hand. I have a purchased loose little tunic/shirt in a similar fabric that I wear over a black cami-tunic and love the look and soft fluid feel. The weight is right for a top, tunic, dress or skirt. Depending on the style, you might want to line. I cut sheers like this one using paper. Lay down a layer of paper on the cutting table, and trim the ends so they are straight, at right angles to the other edge. This assures that you can line up the grain of the fabric with the edges of the paper. Place the fabric on top, smoothing so the grain is straight...this is key! Then pin the pattern through all layers and cut through all layers. The bottom paper layer keeps the soft fabric from shifting as you cut and allows you to move and mark the pieces without distorting. Keep the style lines simple, I'd use French seams whenever possible and/or serge seams together. Test scraps for needle size and stitch length, this would probably call for a small (#10/11) sharp needle, fine thread and short stitch length.
Pre-treat by dipping in lukewarm water and air dry...this is one fabric I would not put in the dryer - because the twisted threads in a crepe weave can tend to shrink. After sewing, hand launder and air dry.
