Leila Cotton Ikat WovenSai Silks
Black and white double ikat in a fine cotton from India. Some of the most interesting and soulful fabrics are coming out of India today where hand dyed and hand loomed textile traditions continue. Double Ikat is a technique in which both warp and the weft are resist-dyed prior to weaving, so it it is the most difficult to make and more expensive to produce. Mid shirting weight, opaque with an appealing cool hand, soft drape and 2-3/4" repeat. The weight is right for a shirt, dress, tunic, skirt, jumpsuit, soft pants or menswear. This is one of those fabrics that will just keep getting better over time. Ideal for warm weather, comfortable, wrinkle resistant. Tunic in the photo is Marcy's V1694.
Zahira, Nisha, Devi, Pythia and Leila are sibling fabrics and work well together.
Pre-treat by wash gentle and air dry. Launder separately.
