Exquisite combination of color, pattern and quality in a complex jacquard weave linen from an Italian mill, in rich warm shades of rust, gray and black. New fabric from old stock (I'm guessing '60's-70's), in a group we discovered tucked away in the supplier's warehouse. Rich jewel toned floral design, lightly striated, has a 17" repeat and one way pattern. The warp threads are black, the weft/filler threads vary in color which adds to the depth. Supple light shirting weight with a soft glow, lightly crisp but not at all thick or heavy, has a light drape and the jacquard weave keeps wrinkling to a minimum. A very special fabric, right for a jacket, vest, duster coat, shirt, top, dress, tunic or skirt. Good for wardrobe building as it will work with basic blacks.
Pre-treat by machine wash gentle or hand launder and air dry. I laundered/machine dried a sample, and recommend if you put it in the dryer, remove while still slightly damp and air dry.
