Stunning geometric clipped double weave has a muted warm gray background with a woven-in taupe/gray/black small scale plaid in overall irregular shapes in a grid pattern. The two layers are attached, woven as one, then parts of the plaid areas are mechanically trimmed away in the weaving process, leaving the edges  raw and lightly fringed. Wabi sabi complex cloth - tricky to describe, but a beautiful example of cutting edge textile technology from an upscale mill in India that creates fabrics for Eileen Fisher and Donna Karan. Produced exclusively for us and worth the 6 month wait! This quietly dramatic beauty is suiting weight, textured on the right side, smooth on the reverse, lightly crisp - similar in weight and hand to light weight gabardine or a tropical wool. Right for a jacket, vest, coat, structured dress or pant. Has a one way design and 32" repeat, though matching is not really necessary. I took a cut for a fall jacket or vest.

Hand launder and air dry. Or, wash delicate/cold and air dry. I took a cut and washed on delicate/cold and air dried. There was a bit of raveling along the plaid edges which I will clean up and trim as I press & work on the fabric.
