From a renowned SF designer, a fabric I see used in upper end European RTW, an understated basic that can become a wardrobe staple. Black nylon taffeta from a Japanese mill. Nylon is a synthetic used in better fabrics...a good thing! This is a light weight, like silk taffeta, not too thin, not too heavy, matte with a silky smooth hand and very malleable drape, when crushed it holds it shape, then releases to smooth. Makes great travel clothes, use for a jacket, vest, coat, structured skirt or dress. I've even seen this fabric used for a sculptural pant. Make a layering jacket and vest to wear for travel...garments fold flat to almost nothing, wrinkles release, other layers slide over/under easily. A wardrobe workhorse, and this version is a great quality too.
Pre-treat by machine wash gentle and air dry. Test a swatch if you want to put it in the dryer.
