Plum Blossom Japanese Chirimen Poly Crepe Woven

Charming multicolored floral on a black background in a Chirimen weave used in classic Japanese kimono. Chirimen is a plain-woven crêpe made of high twist yarn. It is a soft fabric that doesn't crease easily, and its signature crimped surface texture is called shibo. Back in the day, Chirimen was made with silk, today more commonly and more economically, (ane easier to care for), is made in polyester. Light weight and airy, opaque with a lightly textured fine grained crepe hand and soft drape.Right for a dress, skirt, tunic, blouse, skirt, soft pants, caftan or kimono.

Pre-treat by wash/dry gentle. After sewing, wash gentle and air dry.
