Dark toned brocade has dark brown geometric woven-in shapes on a black background, vintage '90's deadstock from a French mill. Mid weight, but not thick or heavy, with a smooth, lightly textured hand, flat and smooth on the back side, with a lightly crisp, airy drape. Right for a jacket, coat, duster, vest, structured skirt or dress. Marcy says,'To dress up or down, to line or not, the smoothness of the fabric assures that other garments will slip on/off easily. The narrow width and uncommon fiber blend suggest production on older looms using materials that are no longer economically or practically viable today.'
