Sky Dynasty Silk Brocade Woven

Classic silk brocade, fine vintage deadstock from an LA designer. Today this classic type of brocade is made with polyester, so I was thrilled to find a roll in silk. Multicolored medallions on a clear turquoise background. The images include stylized flora and fauna as well as Foo Dogs, which are actually stylized lions and originated in Chinese art, representing protection, prosperity, and strength. Mid/lightweight, with a smooth hand, a 13½" repeat and a structured lightly crisp drape. Right for a jacket, vest, coat, structured dress or skirt, decor and accessories. The narrow width means the fabric is woven on old looms.
