A beautiful bold braid repeats in taupe, caramel and black across a fine quality creamy white silk jersey. Stunning deadstock from a southern California designer. Lightweight, opaque, with a silky smooth soft hand, airy drape, crosswise stretch, some rolling at the cut edge and a 4" repeat. The weight is right for a t-shirt, top, tunic, skirt, dress, lounge wear or soft pant.
This is a fabric that you are going to want to test, test, test every step of the way. Silk jersey can 'run' so check both edges. If there is a run, cut the fabric as for a nap with the ravel edge at the hem, not the neck. Use a walking foot and test stitches with a new fine needle -- ball point or stretch needle if necessary. Test a sample with your iron to find the correct temperature and see if you need to use a press cloth. Rely on drape rather than fit for stretch.
Limited quantity available.
Pre-treat by handwashing. After sewing hand wash, air dry. Test a sample if you want to machine wash.
