V9112 in a mix of cotton flannel plaids

Cozy and fun to wear, V9112 is lengthened 8" at the hem, with the addition of a sleeve from V1750 cut on the bias. No change made to the armhole, the sleeve popped in easily. Using a mix of plaids makes matching unnecessary and shows the seaming details.

The fabrics: Red River Plaid, Bisbee Plaid, Holmes Houndstooth.

B6919 by katherine in garnet cashmere

Katherine's new coat: B6919

Butterick 6919 is a new, just about to be released coat pattern by Katherine Tilton. Dramatic yet wearable, sculptural, slightly oversized unlined coat with curved seams that can go from casual to dressed to the nines. Shown here in our Garnet Cashmere, pure luxe to wear with jeans or silk.

Make it in wool, denim, rainwear, linen, brocade. See the B6919 Collection.

embroidered velvet hoodie in Katherine's B6863

Perfect for now and reflecting a trend we saw in Paris for embroidery, color and velvet. Katherine's best selling zip front hoodie, Butterick 6863 in our Doria Embroidered Velvet Knit.

We ran the crosswise border along the zipper, stabilizing behind the zipper with fusible tricot, and stitching the zipper in place by hand. The patch pockets are cleverly matched to the embroidery so are nearly invisible.

marcy's new jacket v1925

v1925 fabric collection

pattern

The studio working name for Vogue 1925 is the Moto Jacket, a lightly fitted jacket with optional hood or collar, flattering princess seams in two lengths (24 ¾” and 27 ¾”), separating zipper and easy to sew inseam faux welt pockets. This flattering jacket skims the figure yet has enough ease to slide over a top, t-shirt or shirt.

V1817 in black cashmere by gwen spencer

Using our Black Cashmere #1, Gwen pared down V1817. A consumate designer, Gwen eliminated the collar, made it symmetrical by using the left side only, shortened at the hem, bound the neck and armhole with silk jacquard and finished by using one large button. The result is just right, a no fuss perfect layer. No lining needed. It feels delicious unlined!

inner secret

Gwen is a master at hand stitching. She decided that serging 'is just not nice enough for cashmere', so she finished all the seams by hand using a varigated thread.
