Suggested fabrics – Cotton canvas and twill, denim, dry oilskin, oilskin, medium – heavy weight linen. You can make the ties in self fabric or 25mm webbing or tape.
See Marcy's version in denim below - topstitched in acid yellow green, using a sharp topstitching needle, two threads in the needle, a long stitch and the 'stretch' stitch (2 stitches back, one forward). I made the bib and width wider for more coverage.
