Bettina Italian Wool Knit

Abstract plaid design in shades of teal, gray and black, deadstock from an Italian mill.  A unique fabric produced on specialized looms with the knitted in plaid pattern alternating with lightly speckled black in a 26" repeat. Cozy and uber soft, with a brushed surface on one side, smooth on the other. Light rolling at the cut edge - easy to sew, the cut edge does not ravel, so no seam finish is needed. This is a knit with a very slight crosswise stretch, but it reads like a woven. Airy coating weight with a bit of loft. Right for a coat, jacket, vest, sweater and accessories. I see this type of fabric in upper end Parisian ready to wear.
