One-of-a-kind, hand printed floral on raw silk matka in warm rust burgundy tones, deadstock from an LA designer. Probably a sample cut, probably produced in India. Spectacular. The base fabric is quietly multicolored, hand woven, then over printed. Has a cotton-like feel, textured hand, sculptural drape. Matka silk is made from thick yarns spun out of broken waste or leftover fibers from a hatched cocoon. Mid/heavy weight is right for a jacket, coat, vest or home decor.
