Chavi Ikat Woven
Chavi Ikat Woven
A grid of black on warm white double ikat squares in a hand-woven cotton from India that is naturally blurry in a charming way. Some of the most interesting and soulful fabrics are coming out of India today where textile traditions continue. Double Ikat is a technique in which both warp and the weft are resist-dyed prior to weaving, so it it is the most difficult to make and more expensive to produce. Light weight, opaque with a lightly textured appealing cool hand, and airy drape. The weight is right for a tunic, shirt, light jacket, vest, dress, skirt, caftan or soft pants.
